Jamalia graduated from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus with a BSc. in Chemical and Process Engineering in 2014, which ignited her passion for renewable energy. In 2016, she was awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship to attend the University of Reading, where she earned a Masters with Distinction in Renewable Energy: Technology and Sustainability.

Upon her return to Barbados in 2017, she under took a three-month internship at the Barbados Renewable Energy Association, which propelled her into Barbados’ Renewable Energy sector and subsequently lead to her employment as the Renewable Energy Project Officer at Williams Solar.

Jamalia is dedicated to the implementation of renewable energy in Barbados. Over the past four years, she has successfully managed the installation of over 8.0 megawatts of grid-tied generation systems in the country.
